Common questions

Is it safe to run a MacBook with the lid closed overnight?

It can be, with the right setup. LidRun watches battery and thermal state and lets the Mac sleep before either goes too far — but airflow and placement are still on you. Keep the Mac on a hard, ventilated surface, never inside a closed bag.

Do I need to enable the Helper to keep my Mac awake overnight?

For Closed-Lid mode, yes — the Helper is what lets LidRun toggle the lid-closed behavior without asking for your password every time, and it's what restores normal sleep automatically if LidRun ever quits unexpectedly.

What happens if the battery gets low while LidRun is running?

LidRun stops holding the Mac awake once your battery threshold is crossed and lets it sleep normally. That threshold is yours to set — the safety net only works if you've turned it on.
